Wilma Vaught were inducted into the Army Women's Foundation hall of fame March 17, on Capitol Hill, for extraordinary service to the U.S. Army.CONGRATULATIONS to Brig. Gen. Wilma Vaught, USAF-Ret., president of the board of directors of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation, who was inducted into the U.S. Army Women's Foundation Hall of Fame on March 17th, together with former Army Major Tammy Duckworth.

As reported in the Pages of History section of the May 2010 issue of Military Officer, page 75: "One of the most highly decorated women to serve in the U.S. military, [Gen. Vaught] has achieved many "firsts" that helped lay the foundation for thousands of women in the Army.

"'[Duckworth and Vaught] have shown extraordinary dedication, valor, and patriotism through their service,' said Maj. Gen. Dee Ann McWilliams, USA-Ret., . . . 'Their sacrifices have not only contributed greatly to our country but also have paved the way as leaders and role models ot the Army women following thier service.'"

Gen. Vaught was instrumental in coordinating the delivery of Congressional Gold Medals to WASP and/or their representatives in Washington, D.C., and is still working with her staff to ensure that each WASP and/or family is located.

Kudos on an honor well-deserved!
